Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan among Twitter celebs who lost the 'blue tick'

In a recent move, Twitter has removed all the legacy verified blue ticks from all the accounts that previously owned it.

Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Virat Kohli are among the people who lost the blue tick.

The only ones who still own the verified blue tick are those paying for Twitter Blue subscriptions, which costs $8 per month on the web and $11 a month on the mobile app

Earlier it was announced that Twitter will remove the blue tick from the so-called ‘notable’ accounts. But after Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, celebrities and all the people who were deemed as notable now had to subscribe to Twitter Blue to keep their verified blue ticks.

Now that Twitter has tweaked its verification process, all the well-known individuals are now at risk of impersonation. Twitter had warned the users that if they don't subscribe to Twitter Blue, they will lose the verified tick from their account, starting April 1- “To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue”, the company said on its website.

The ‘Blue tick’ which was not charged previously, was introduced in 2009 to help users identify celebrities, politicians, companies, and brands, and to help Users identify genuine accounts of public interests.

But Musk launched the ‘Twitter Blue’ subscription service, with which came the verified ticks as perks within two weeks of the company's takeover.
